Contact Center

Mission

We create a safe place for communicating with addicted or threatened addicts. By working together, we map the current situation and offer support in finding solutions. We reduce the risks of possible negative impacts associated with drug use, contributing to improving the overall situation of the individual and protecting public health.

The social service is implemented based on an authorization according to Act No. 108/2006 Coll., about social services valid since 1 January 2007 (registered social service)

The list of basic activities is laid down in Act No. 108/2006 Coll., about social services valid since 1 January 2007, the content is stated in Decree No. 505/2006 Coll., Part Two.

The service is governed by the Quality Standards of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Government Council for Drug Policy Coordination. In 2005, the service got the GCDPC Certificate of Professional Competence.
The current certificate of professional competence is valid until 2.11.2020.

Policy of service providing

  • volunteering - The user of the service decides for the provided services voluntarily
  • low-threshold - means availability, free entry, without member card, without application, without surname
  • equal access - services are provided regardless of gender, race, education, political or other opinion, religion, legal or social status, nationality or ethnic minority, mental or physical condition
  • secrecy and confidentiality - the protection of personal and sensitive users' data is maintained, workers protect the user's right of privacy and the confidentiality of his / her communication
  • Individual approach - workers take into account the current life situation of the service user and his / her individual needs
  • expertise - services are provided by workers with appropriate education and experience

Target group

  • people at risk of addiction or addicted on addictive substances
  • people who live a dangerous life style or who are at risk of such a way of life

Age category of clients

  • adolescents (18 years) young adults (19-26 years) adults (27-64 years)

Goals of the program

  • minimizing social risks related to drug use
  • stabilization of the client's social conditions for his subsequent abstinence (ideally) eg. in the area of habitation, employment, family background, etc.
  • changing the risky behavior of drug users towards less risky
  • minimizing the risk of somatic harm, eventually its elimination or reduction
  • supporting the client's own activities to solve his / her social situation

Mediation of treatment entry

One of the most basic activities of the Contact Center memebers is mediation of getting treatment. Those interested in using the service can contact the staff, they provide to the service seeker information about the types of treatment programs, their course and help with the necessary documentation and fulfillment of the conditions for entering the treatment facility.

Testing for the presence of drugs in urine and testing for infectious diseases

Service seekers or institution of social and legal protection of children can contact a workers and use a two-month test program for the presence of drugs metabolite in urine. The client is tested twice a week and on a once-a-week basis on individual therapy. The aim is to motivate and support the client towards abstinence in order to stabilize his / her current situation, support in difficult situations and to find their possible new starting points or resources.

Every Wednesday, a nurse is present at the Contact Center who performs tests for infectious diseases (HEP - type B and C hepatitis, HIV and syphilis). Testing is offered for free and anonymously.

Ladies Club

Time and room reserved for drug addicted women who, due to their lifestyle, are living in the "male" world and therefore lose their femininity. There is an expanded food and hygiene service at the club that promotes self-care. The typical female topics which there is no suitable space within the Contact Center for can be shared in female circle.
